From cardboard kittens to hotdog ‘hambags’, creativity meets kitsch in the wonderful world of Garudio Studiage…

Garudio Studiage is a Peckham-based design collective which captures the current spirit of London’s creative scene, mixing design and art with fashion, fun and lashings of this, that and the other.

Chris Ratcliffe, Laura Cave, Anna Walsh and Hannah Havana make up the four core members of Garudio Studiage, which has evolved from a small garage with a print table in 2004, to its current state as a fully functioning studio in the Bussey building, Rye Lane, Peckham.

Their individual specialisms include screen printing and graphic design, painting, jewellery and accessories, whilst together they have worked on prop-making, products, sets and displays for a wonderfully bizarre array of events and exhibitions.

The Garudio Studiage philosophy is very much about collaboration and the crossing of disciplines, and they often work alongside costume-and-dance duo Put Out the Bin, renowned creative collective Peepshow, advertising agency Kastner & Partners and illustrators Andy Forshaw and 10DiamondLegacy.

Whether it is illustrated fortune-telling or screen prints made of dust, Garudio Studiage take on projects where others may fear to tread, mixing their open-minded sense of fun with high standards of production and finish.

Recent Garudio Studiage projects have included the Christmas window display for Paul Smith in Sloane Avenue, an exhibition of screen printed dartboards at Dazed and Confused Gallery, two sideshows at the launch of the Wunderville event for London Design week and most recently the Gorgeously Greasy Grill at the V&A Village Fete.

Garudio Studiage have recently launched an online shop selling their quirky handmade products, paintings, t-shirts, jewellery and prints.
